Photo series

INSIGHT is an ongoing series of portraits that I started in Mexico City back in 2012. Since then I have photographed my colleagues, role models and friends of painters, street and graffiti artists for this series together with one of their artworks. A portable projector, which has become an integral part of my luggage, serves as a tool to bring the artist’s portrait and their artwork together.

The human face corresponds to a unique canvas on which the traces of our life are drawn. These characteristics make it distinctive and reflect in a certain way which lifestyle a person has led. I add the level of passion to the natural facial texture, which has an important place in the artist’s existence. The projection of the artwork creates a mask-like, archaic expression. The closed eyes symbolize a turning towards the inner life of the artist.
