typograffiti

‘Fonts of True Writers von A bis Z’ is a collection of styles of well-known graffiti writers, that have been turned into alphabets by them to make them usable as so-called fonts.

Of course I’m not considering myself as a ‘true writer’, but nevertheless I felt quite honored when Joe asked me to be part of this book. For me, the writing is primarily a means to an end, but it also acts as a supplementary contrast or as a design element to the rest of the work. And in fact, the writing was actually part of it right from the start, just not my focus.

STADT.WAND.KUNST(2013-2020) Das Buch

The book documents the development of the unique OPEN URBAN ART MUSEUM MANNHEIM. Additionally to descriptions of the murals and information about all artists, there are exciting interviews and background stories to discover.

I’m still flashed that the Herakut mural ‘My superhero power is forgiveness’ was the kickoff for this awesome project and I was even more honored to come back to paint the first mural for the ‘Lest We Forget’ project with the support of STADT.WAND.KUNST. Thank you ladies and gents, you’re doing a greta job!

L’Epouse d’Amman

The Bride of Amman, a huge and controversial bestseller when first published in Arabic as “Arous Amman عروس عمّان“،, by Fadi Zaghmout in 2012, takes a sharp-eyed look at the intersecting lives of four women and one gay man in Jordan’s historic capital, Amman-a city deeply imbued with its nation’s traditions and taboos.

Seems like the ‘We Are One’ mural in downtown Amman, that I painted in 2015 is accidentally the perfect fit for the cover of the French translation of Fadis book and I was very delighted when he asked me for the permission to use it.

Beyond the Streets

This book was one of the first featuring interviews with 100 main figures in street and urban art from around the world, each of which is richly illustrated with inspiring images. Its impressive list of participants, as well as the unique diversity of their perspectives, makes the book an authoritative manual on these genres.
The direct points of view of leading artists and the most important sales outlets for street art as well as key commentators, collectors, and enthusiasts have been put together. Having been part of this as one half of Herakut gave me the real feeling of having arrived at this home called street art.
